Have you ever thought if William’s wife were not killed, what would he do? When other people asked him to help fight for freedom, would he do? Some people may say it’s his mission to fight for freedom, what do you think of that?

Just as "the times produce their heroes", the reasons to Wallace’s success are the environment he was in and also his own efforts. So I don’t know whether he will fight for freedom when he is living a happy life with his beloved wife. May be he won’t.
