This is a very good film about American traditional value-self-reliance. The film told us how a girl from a poor even terrible family finally goes to Howard University by her persistence. I saw this film last summer with several other films thought to be encouraging. You can’t imagine how bad the situation the girl was in. her mother was addicted to drugs and the relationship between her mother and her grandfather was confusing. It’s easy for her to be one of the lost. However, she didn’t yield to her fate. To go to the Howard University, she began to study very hard and reading books when she was on bus. From her experience, we really can feel American’s self-reliance!
