What do you think about the hostage negotiation?

The negotiator, Lt. Grimes, is very kind. He knows what other people needs and are patient to persuade other people out of what they are doing. In fact, I think he respects the father in the movie. What do you think about him?

I think he's an excellent negotiator. As a negotiator, it is necesssary to really empathize with others, knowing what they want, what they need and most importantly the motivation behind their actions. The negotiator in the movie was skilled and experienced.
